Liver cancer is a condition that occurs when normal cells in the liver become abnormal in appearance and behavior. The cancer cells can then become destructive to adjacent normal tissues and can spread to other areas of the liver and also to organs outside the liver.Hepatocellular Carcinoma are the malignant or cancerous cells that develop in the normal cells of the liver. Liver cancer is difficult to cure because its detection at the early stage is difficult and hence surgery should be carried out by experienced professionals.

Diagnosis for Liver Cancer
liver cancer are detected by presence of alpha fetoprotein in the blood.AFP (alpha fetoprotein) is produced by liver tumors and can be detected in a blood test. Imaging scans either using an MRI or CT scan. A small sample of tumor tissue is removed and analyzed. The analysis can inform whether the tumor is cancerous (malignant) or non-cancerous
Treatment of Liver Cancer
Patients with early-stage tumors that can be removed surgically have the possibility of long-term survival. Unfortunately, most liver cancers are inoperable at the time of diagnosis, either because it is at an advanced stage or that the liver is heavily diseased to permit surgery. In some patients, chemotherapy is administered directly into the liver (chemoembolization), to decrease tumors to a size that may make surgery possible. This may also be done without chemotherapy (bland embolization) in some cases, using ethanol instead. Patients in remission must be monitored closely for potential recurrence.
